Dawn is inspired by those beautiful colours you see in the early morning hours, as the sun rises and creates hues of blended rusty oranges turning to crisp spring blues. I think the stark difference between the orange and blue looks wonderful as in between the two, you can see sage greens, golden yellows and velvety browns.

This linocut depicts a curious hound greeting a starling. Starlings are my favourite bird and one I remember fondly from childhood. I used to spend hours watching them wash themselves in the garden bird baths in little feathery groups of 5 or 6. It was always fascinating for me to see how their feathers shone in the sun like oil, with that purple and green sheen.
