The Mythology Series – #3 Artemis (Venatrix the Huntress)

Number 3 in the collection was always going to be a particular favourite of mine. On adopting Vena, I was deciding upon a name and after watching her, it was clear she had an extremely high prey drive, hence why she also won a fair few races in her day. I am obsessed with Greek Mythology and my one of my favourite goddesses is Artemis. She is the god of the hunt. However, after playing around with the name, it didn’t seem to roll off the tongue or have the feel I was after for such a beautifully elegant hound. So, I googled the Latin for huntress and voila, Venatrix was born.
